Jenni Coker (she/her) is a birth doula and mother, located in Orange County, California, with a passion for providing holistic and inclusive support.
Jenni’s areas of interest include the mind-body connection, informed consent, trauma-informed care, evidence-informed decision making, conscious parenting, nutrition, and body work. She believes that inclusive, accessible, non-judgmental support should be available to all birthing people, and she works to improve outcomes and experiences in her local community. She’s a natural caretaker, always finding opportunities to nurture those around her.
Her interest in birth and babies began in childhood, but it was her own pregnancy and birth in 2015 that really ignited her passion for birth-work. Like many expectant parents, Jenni researched tirelessly, educating herself on her options regarding pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. Through her own journey into parenthood, she learned firsthand how vital a caring and supportive team is to an empowering birth experience. She firmly believes that the type of support she received should be available to all birthing people and their families, regardless of financial status, race, sexual or gender identity. She works on a sliding scale to ensure accessibility to quality birth support.
Jenni has a wide range of experience in various birth settings, with a specialty in home birth. She received birth doula training through DONA International, as well as the Get Rooted training series with Haize Hawke. She continuously works to deepen her understanding of the needs of birthing people and to broaden her education, through hands-on experience, research, and by taking a variety of classes and workshops.
She recognizes childbirth as a deeply intimate, highly individual, life-altering experience, and views the birthing person as powerful, intuitive, and capable. She is passionate about providing emotional, physical, and educational support and encouragement, so that families feel empowered throughout the entire process. She holds a deep reverence for the sacredness of birth and feels truly grateful to each family who allows her to hold space for them on their transformational journey.
